Simple Woman's Daybook

I am linking up with others who are writing Daybook entries. For more Daybook posts, head to The Simple Woman’s Blog.

For Today - 10/26/15 I have a big chapter test on the French Revolution

Outside my window the sunset is oh so pretty and there will soon be a full moon.

I am thinking about Christmas break and what to get my friends for Christmas.
I am wearing sweats. Monday is my excuse.

I am creating an amazing painting in art influenced by the song Jet Black Heart off 5 Seconds of Summer's new album Sounds good feels good. :)

I am going to write my book one day:)

I am wondering how my Cooper is doing in doggie heaven.

I am reading Magnus and the Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan.

I am hoping I can come up with a good beginning to my story I'm writing.

I am learning that people don't change.

In my garden frost took over.

Poem for the day... heard this poem today in English class called "Highschool Training Ground" by Malcolm London. One of my favorite poems ever.

A peak into one of my days
Writing outside with my Bella Bean (:

One of my favorite things right now is the poem I shared above.

Hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of fall weather :)

We Send another up to Doggie Heaven

Vacuuming up dog hair all the time becomes rather annoying after a while. But picking up little tuffs of his fur he left behind around the house is going to be just emotional. It seems like last week my family {including Breanne} picked up this already old dog from Diane's pet store. He was dropped off there after his owner went into a retirement home; his kids wanting only the younger dogs.
We didn't know this dog, it's background, health issues, nothing. Except that he was a 12 year old dog (back in 2012) who more then likely would spend the rest of his life there or be put down. We've rescued dogs for ever since I can remember and accepting Cooper into the family wasn't a hard adjustment. He was a good dog, with cattle rounding instincts (that our other dogs and cat didn't appreciate much...), and the softest fur I've ever touched.

Thanks for everything buddy, say hi to the others for me

It's the Most Colorful time of the Year

 Hi loves,
Every season has its special beauty and autumn is no exception. Watching the trees turn from a typical green to all varieties of orange, yellow and red is a gorgeous sight. Every year I'm almost blinded by the fiery brilliance; and I get lost in the world that changes all around me. How can it be that all this beauty is sign of death and decay? With all this allure there is a certain sadness in knowing that the changing colors foreshadow the arrival of a long cold winter. But with this sadness comes perks like bonfires, homecoming, Halloween, sweaters, hot coco, and the holiday season.

In this small, small town football is a big, big thing. Therefore Homecoming game is huge; everybody, all 350 people that live in town, was there. The lights were too bright, it was a solid 30 degrees, and I got a few splinters from the old bleachers; but the people were pumped, the cold weather only made the hot coco taste 10x better, and we won 40 something to 26 and that's all that matters.

No date for my Freshman Homecoming but I enjoyed hanging out with my friends all the same. They all fixed up nice!
My love for the 50s was reflected in my homecoming outfit. The dress was a peach dress with a just-below-the-knee 50s cut accented with a satin bow. My shoes were silver heels and my earrings were dangley and sparkly. I loved it!

Hoping everyone is well this beautiful time of year,

National Poetry Day

I love poetry, reading, writing and being emotionally swept away by such amazing pieces of art. Please enjoy some of my favorites,

Last week I ran away from home,
Away from work, away from phone.
All things of which I’d had enough,
I drove south ’til I reached the gulf.
A blanket spread on sun warmed sand,
Amid all sorts, from pale to tan.
They knew me not nor bothered me,
While I lay listening to the sea.
Waiting for my soul to rest.
As the sun waned toward the West,
Symphonies through my stillness rang.
Children laughed and seagulls sang,
In rhythm to the metered surf;
A harmony marked by timeless worth.
I idly toyed with drifted sand,
As countless grains fell from my hand,
Like sands undone from hourglass.
I felt my taut release at last,
And rest to my weary soul did come,
With knowledge I must return to home.

Something to try...
is black out poetry. You take some old news papers, pages out of books, etc. and choose certain words you like to form certain quotes and sentences; then black out the rest of the words.
I listen to music {In this case infinity by One Direction} to inspire me.

Hope all is well,
